Pointe Pest Volunteering for Loaves & Fishes
The Stink Behind the Stink Bug
Pointe Pest Control staff members recently volunteered at Loaves & Fishes Community Services in Naperville, IL for the fight against hunger. Volunteers gave their time working in the food pantry for low-income individuals and families in the western suburbs. “What I enjoyed most about volunteering is helping out other people in need, it felt really good. This is something I definitely want to do again in the near future,” said Fernando Trujillo, Service Technician for Pointe Pest Control. The team spent the day checking fresh produce and putting them out for clients to take. They also assisted clients as they shopped through the market. “I got to sort through produce in the food pantry and knowing that I helped others felt really good,” said Wendy Correa, Office Administrator/CRS for Pointe Pest Control. “I think it’s important that we help when we can and I can’t wait to do it again.” The team is looking forward to assisting the over 2,500 low-income individuals who visit Loaves & Fishes a week and continuing to do what they can for their community. Loaves & Fishes is a not-for-profit and one of Chicagoland’s leading anti-poverty organizations. They offer multi-faceted services that empower low-income individuals and families toward self-sufficiency to build a stronger community.
