FAQ
What’s biting me?
There is a myriad of pests that bite: bed bugs, mosquitos, fleas, ticks, spiders, etc. To figure out which one is biting you, it is important to be aware of when/where you appear to be getting these bites. For example, if you wake up each morning with a series of bites arranged in lines you may be dealing with bed bugs, or if you were hanging outside in the shade near a pond or lake, it’s likely you were the victim of some hungry mosquitos. Also noticing other conditions that may allude to pest activity can help identify the pest in question – this can include noticing your dog or cat suddenly scratching a lot which is a common sign of fleas. The best way to tell however, is by having one of our pest control professionals come inspect your home. They will also be able to ask you in depth questions that can help narrow down the suspects and may even recognize the culprits just by the look of the bites. Also, some irritations may actually be skin rashes and not a bug bite. It is always best to seek the help of medical professionals when what appears to be a bite or rash persists for longer than one or two weeks.
Do you treat for cicadas?
Are you currently open due to Covid-19?
Yes, we remain open as we treat for conditions that can be problematic for public health (depending on the pest). Most of our treatments are done outdoors so there is limited to no contact with our technicians. If treatments are required indoors, we treat based on our client’s comfort level and all of our technicians are equipped with masks and gloves for your safety.
Do you remove dead rodents?
Any rodents that we catch in our traps or treat for will absolutely be removed from your home by our technicians. However, if you are not a current customer receiving treatments for these critters and happen upon a dead rodent or other animal in your home, you will want to call Animal Control for proper removal as this is not a service we can offer at this time.
Are your treatments done indoors?
Yes, if necessary. This depends on your particular pest concerns/where you may be noticing pest activity. Most of our treatments are done outside, however, we are well trained and equipped to perform various indoor treatments including (but not limited to): ant eradication, bed bug treatments, rodent exclusions etc. Our technicians can perform an inspection in your home in order to determine what indoor treatments, if any, are necessary.
Can you treat for lice?
No. Unfortunately lice are a particular type of human parasite that needs to be treated with assistance from medical professionals.
Should I be concerned about “Murder Hornets?”
No. While the appearance of Giant Asian Hornets (nicknamed “Murder Hornets”) in the United States is rather shocking, there have not been many sightings of the pests and professionals are currently working on rounding up the population. Furthermore, the small population that was spotted in Washington State is a great distance away from Illinois, making their local appearance highly unlikely.
Are your treatments safe for my family and pets?
Yes. We are dedicated to keeping you healthy and safe. All of our treatments are safe for both people and pets, and are eco-friendly. For more in depth information on our passion for safe treatments, click here.
Do you treat for wildlife?
The only non-insects that we can treat for are small rodents including rats, mice, and voles. Other general wildlife (skunks, raccoons, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs, bats, snakes, etc.) require intervention from Animal Control Professionals who posses different knowledge, skills, and licenses to handle these creatures properly.
